Saturday Morning! (6-18-11)

Well, today’s rehearsal got off to a good start. Not only are the drummer, bass player and keyboard player missing, but someone hit Carissa’s car on the way to practice. Some of Dong’s luck must be rubbing off on her. She didn’t sound too pleased. Alas, our fair songstress did not make the rehearsal and poor Dong and Kent were condemned to 3 hours of my hopeless warblings as they tried to figure out what chords were actually in the song as opposed to the ones I had written down.

Progress was made, however. After a frustrating start, No One Loves Me really started to take shape. Likewise, They Have Laid Me Down began to make some musical sense. Of course, with 4/6ths of the band missing, it is a little hard to figure everything out. We did do some one mic wonder recordings though, for the rest of our mighty ensemble.

There has been some talk of the band playing live after the album is completed, which is really cool news. So far, only Juan (and he’s still in Puerto Rico) has not signed on to this noble musical adventure. Stay tuned!

Today’s pictures are taken by me.

P.S.

I’m also working on a country and western song. (not one of my usual genres, but I am but a slave to the muse) If it turns out, it will be appearing in a really crappy demo, in a future blog. Carissa would look cute in a cowboy hat, cowboy boots and jean shorts. Yeeehaaaa!
